Van Oriental Foods Recalls 10-Thousand Pounds of Pork Egg Rolls

Van Oriental Foods, Inc. has recalled more than 10,000 pounds of pork egg rolls that may possibly be contaminated with soft plastic.

The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Services announced today that the Dallas, Texas based company's recall of the rolls is in response two complaints by a couple of consumers who said they found thin plastic threads in the rolls.

The pork rolls in question are the following according to the FSIS:

5.4-oz. packages containing two pieces of “VAN’S KITCHEN 2 EGG ROLLS PORK GRAB AND GO” with lot code 18150, a Julian date of 18150A and various “FRESHNESS DATE/BEST IF USED BY” dates. The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 13219” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

No one has reported any issues from consuming the egg rolls that are subject to the recall but the FSIS urges anyone who may be concerned to contact their healthcare provider.
