Three people were killed Tuesday morning in a head-on crash involving a tow truck in Valley Center. The crash happened shortly before 6:15a.m. on Valley Center Road between North Lake Wohlford Road and Paradise Creek Lane, California Highway Patrol Officer Tommy Doerr said.
A witness told a CHP dispatcher that a Ford F-150 slammed head on into a tow truck. Three people were pronounced dead at the scene. The tow truck driver was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. No details about the victims were immediately available.
A SigAlert was issued at 6:25a.m. shutting down the northbound and southbound lanes of Valley Center Road at North Lake Wohlford Road. CHP officers were investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash.
